About Us...
We are a small firm with one adviser, Stephen Spandl. This has the advantage that we have no sales-based targets to meet, such as exist in larger organisations. Our primary focus, therefore, is to serve our clients and we have the control and flexibility to structure our practice to bring that about.
We believe that in today's increasingly complex financial world, people should demand a high level of expertise from their financial advisers and planners. Stephen attained the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate, AFPC, in 2000 and went on to become a Certified Financial Planner, which is the internationally recognised benchmark for financial planners. To achieve the AFPC Stephen passed modules in the following areas: Taxation and Trusts, Personal Investment Planning and Retirement Planning. These are the areas that his continuing
professional development programme concentrates on.
We believe that there must be transparency in all matters. We therefore operate on a fixed fee basis. This takes any possible commission bias out of the advice process. We do not work on an hourly charge rate; we used to, until we realised that the longer we took over doing something the more we were paid! So in the interests of clarity we moved to a system of fixed fees and give our clients the choice of paying us direct or by using any commissions released if a financial product is arranged.
